The Renaissance of an Opera Company
Dear Friends,
Welcome to Intimate Opera of Pasadena!
Intimate Opera is unique in Southern California. Fourteen years ago we began as a quartet of singers, presenting programs of opera scenes and arias once a month at a bookstore-coffee shop in Old Town Pasadena. We were originally started by singers for singers, to create both performance opportunities for local artists as well as exciting theatrical productions for our patrons.
With our first season as the opera company in residence at the Pasadena Playhouse, we are experiencing a "renaissance," a rebirth as a company. We are distinctively positioned to expand our original vision of encouraging emerging artists through performance opportunities. We now have the opportunity to create collaborations between seasoned, established performers and emerging artists, creating a supportive environment in which young artists can learn and grow from working with more experienced singers in the rehearsal and performance process.
We couldn't be more pleased and excited to commence this new stage in our growth, especially with the opportunity to do so in the breathtakingly beautiful Pasadena Playhouse. I am certain you will want to be a part of this electrifying adventure.
